Christmas Day: “Silent Night, Holy Light” 12.25.16 – Pastor Lerum

“Silent Night, Holy Light” – Pastor Bruce Lerum

Isaiah 62:10-12, Titus 3:4-7, John 1:1-14

Darkness is the absence of light.

When the lights are on, darkness is not an issue.

John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

There are Christmas light strings that go out when one bulb “dies.”

Because of Christ, Christmas is the light bulb that never burns out.

John 1:8 “He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.”

In the darkness of our being, only Jesus can chase out the darkness.

In the holiness of Jesus’ birth, the morning sun shines brightest.

John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
