“They Still Didn’t Get It” – John 20:1-9 / 1 Corinthians 15:19-28

John 20:2 “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

As happens so often, the proverbial “they” are blamed for what has happened.

John 20:6 [Simon Peter] saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.

The signs of death precede signs of life.

John 20:9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

We could be some of the “they” who still don’t get it, but we don’t have to be.
