In Deuteronomy 8, Moses calls God’s people to remember the Lord in every season—especially in times of comfort and abundance. As Israel prepared to enter the Promised Land, they faced the subtle danger of forgetting the God who had sustained them in the wilderness, provided for their needs, and carried them with unfailing faithfulness. This Thanksgiving, we hear that same warning and invitation: “Take care lest you forget the Lord.” All our blessings—past, present, and future—come from His gracious hand. True thanksgiving is not merely a holiday tradition but an act of worship, turning our hearts back to the God who provides, redeems, and gives us life in Christ.
