Office Assistant

Summary Job Description:

The Office Assistant supports the ministry of the church by serving as the Office Manager’s assistant.  This includes but is not limited to managing the phones, email, copying and data entry, ordering, helping RV and Food Pantry clients as well as working on the bulletins and the Ministry Update. All information related to the operation and performance of the Office Assistant’s duties such as information gathered from church records, staff communications, as well as any other information of a serious nature must be held in the strictest confidence by the Office Assistant.

Qualifications:

  1. Exhibits Biblical Christian ethics at all times
  2. Is personally and regularly involved in a Christian Church whose statement of faith is in line with the Apostle’s Creed and who accepts scripture as God’s inspired Word
  3. Is friendly, dependable, punctual, courteous, organized and competent
  4. Ability and willingness to maintain confidentialities
  5. Has basic computer skills: typing, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Gmail, Google Drive Docs, Calendar, etc
  6. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills and software
  7. Demonstrates the ability to work as a member of a larger team

Compensation:
This position is currently an hourly position that starts at $16 per hour, with potential up to $20/hr based on ability and performance.

Hours, Benefits and Vacation:
Hours - A combination of 16 hours during the hours of Monday-Thursday 8:00am-2:30pm
Example: Monday - 11:30-2:20 (3 hours), Tuesday 10:00am-2:00pm (4 hours), Wednesday 10am-2:00pm (4 hours), Thursday 10:00-2:00pm (4 hours).

Benefits -  This position currently offers no benefits.
Vacation/Time Off - This position currently offers no paid time off 
Mileage -  Work miles will be reimbursed at 54 cents per mile

General Roles and Responsibilities:

Assists the Office Manager by:

  1. Preparing the weekly bulletin for the Office Manager’s Review
  2. Preparing the weekly Ministry Update for the Office Manager’s Review
  3. Help’s manage the phones and email
  4. Assist RV and Food Pantry Clients
  5. Update announcement slides/review all slides via ProPresenter
  6. Run copies as directed
  7. Reorders supplies as directed
  8. Assists with updating webpage, social media pages and church calendar
  9. Forwards prayer requests to Prayer Chain Coordinator
  10. Accommodates any other reasonable request made by the Office Manager
  11. Scanning documents & adding them to google drive or Breeze Church Management system
  12. Data Entry into Breeze Church Management System
Music Director

Ministry Purpose:
Consistent with Romans 12:9-15, Ephesians 4:11-12, Psalm 150:1-5, Ephesians 5:18-20, and Hebrews 2:10-12, the Music Director is responsible for overseeing, stewarding, and leading the church’s music ministry. This role involves selecting music that supports the preaching and worship themes, directing and accompanying musicians, and collaborating with the Pastor and staff to ensure the worship services of this New Testament Church, are spiritually enriching, musically engaging and biblically pleasing to God.

Qualifications:

  1. Exhibits Biblical Christian ethics at all times
  2. Is personally and regularly involved in a Christian Church whose statement of faith is in line with the Apostle’s Creed and who accepts scripture as God’s inspired Word.
  3. Is friendly, dependable, punctual, courteous, organized and competent
  4. Demonstrates the ability to work as a member of a larger team and delegate to and supervise multiple supporting staff and volunteers
  5. Strong proficiency in piano performance and accompaniment.
  6. Experience leading both traditional and contemporary church music ensembles.
  7. Ability to use and manage digital worship tools (e.g., ProPresenter, multitracks).
  8. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  9. Knowledge of Lutheran liturgy and worship traditions preferred.

The Senior Pastor

Supervises:
Coordinates music ministry volunteers and any other staff the Senior Pastor specifies

Compensation:
This position is currently a contract employee position with no benefits. Compensation is based per the schedule approved by the Church Council.  Pay will be based on ability.  Serious applicants only. 

General Roles and Responsibilities:

Worship Planning & Music Selection

  • Select music for all services that reflects sermon themes, scripture readings, and is accessible for the congregation.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor on music for special services (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, memorial services, etc.).
  • Plan and rehearse special offering pieces with members of the music team.
  • Review service bulletins for accuracy and edit music slides in ProPresenter to ensure lyrics are correct before services.

Promotion & Recruitment of Talent

  • Actively seek out and encourage new talent
  • Strive to have two excellent musicians/vocalists in each key role
  • Advertise, at least quarterly, in the church’s communications

8:00 AM Traditional Service

  • Provide cantors with music selections and practice recordings.
  • Rehearse with cantors as needed.
  • Accompany the service on piano.

9:30 AM Contemporary Service

  • Play piano and lead the praise band.
  • Coordinate with band members by distributing music and recordings in advance.
  • Lead rehearsals with the band.
  • Run multitracks during worship.

Special & Seasonal Services

  • Play for memorial services and seasonal worship (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week).
  • Set up keyboard and sound equipment for outdoor sunrise Easter service.
  • Assist with troubleshooting sound issues as needed.

Choir Leadership (Optional, when appropriate)

  • Select choral music that matches seasonal themes and congregational context.
  • Communicate rehearsal schedules, provide music and recordings, and direct rehearsals.

Team Collaboration & Ministry Development

  • Attend weekly staff meetings; contribute ideas and feedback in worship planning.
  • Work with volunteers interested in serving in the music ministry.
  • Foster an encouraging and collaborative environment for musicians and singers.
Associate Pastor/Intern

Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s responsibilities, certification, performance and hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

Adult Bible Class Leader
Teaches the adult Bible class on Sunday mornings.

  • Prepares and teaches biblically sound lessons, often in coordination with the current sermon series.
  • Foster class participation, Bible reading and encouragement among members
  • Provide pastoral care within the class, including follow-up, support and referrals as needed, always keeping the Senior Pastor abreast of any he may need to know.

Small Group Ministry
Provides oversight and support for the church’s small group ministry, fostering spiritual growth, community and discipleship through healthy, multiplying groups.

  • Evaluate and refine the structure and health of groups.
  • Partner with the Senior Pastor to integrate small groups into the life of the church, ensuring it is aligned with the church’s vision and mission.
  • Provide coaching, encouragement and resources for group leaders.
  • Promote biblical teaching and spiritually sound curriculum which reflect the church’s doctrinal standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of leaders and participants.

Missions
Organize, lead and promote the church’s mission ministries. This role provides the congregation with opportunities to serve others by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Evaluate, maintain, and grow partnerships with the church’s chosen missions.
  • Recruit, train, and mobilize members for outreach initiatives and short-term mission trips.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives for the church’s missions and upcoming mission trips.

Youth Ministry
Teach, lead and oversee the church’s ministry to children ages birth to high school. 
Equip and recruit volunteers, partner with parents, and create environments where students become grounded in the scriptures and enter growing relationships with Jesus Christ.

  • Teach and oversee our confirmation program
  • Oversee and equip our Sunday School program
  • Organize, attend and lead regular youth outings and events for families
  • Build relationships with students and their families, connecting them to the life of the church

Secondary Responsibilities:

Preaching
The Associate Pastor/Intern will be expected to preach roughly once every 4-6 weeks. They will also preach during midweek Advent and Lenten services.

Visitations
At times the Associate Pastor/Intern may be asked to assist the visitation team to make hospital and home visits

Bonus
An individual who can excel in all these areas and has musical abilities would be a great advantage to the ministry.
