We want to remind our church family to stay alert to phishing scams—fraudulent emails or texts that try to trick you into sending money or personal information.

Recently, some members have received messages from someone pretending to be Pastor Chase, asking for help or requesting gift cards. These are not legitimate. Please remember:
 Neither Pastor Chase nor anyone from Christ the Victor will ever ask for money, gift cards, or personal details by text or email.

Common scam signs include:

  • Messages claiming Pastor urgently needs help buying gift cards.

  • Requests to “reply privately” about a confidential need.

  • Unusual grammar, suspicious email addresses, or text numbers you don’t recognize.

If you ever receive a message that doesn’t seem right:
 Don’t reply.
 Don’t click any links.
 Block the sender and delete the message.
 When in doubt, contact the church office directly to confirm.
