If there was any doubt, and ambiguity before, Jesus has just removed it. What we have is not ours. It’s His, it is the masters and we are the managers whom he has entrusted with His talents. And as the following text says (31-46), we will be called to an account. Invest your ‘talents’ wisely so that you too might hear the master say, “well done, good and faithful servant.” Notice also, that for those who invest the ‘talents’ God has given them, they wind up with ‘more,’ not less!
